Katharine is a litigator in the Finance & Banking Disputes Group, specialising in contentious regulatory work. She advises firms and individuals in their distressed dealings with the FCA and in response to regulatory enforcement action brought against them by the FCA. Katharine also acts for investors in respect of regulatory breaches by their advisors and companies prosecuting and defending general commercial claims, including breach of contract and complex shareholder disputes. In addition, she advises on matters relating to Professional Discipline, acting for accountants, lawyers, insolvency practitioners and pension trustees who are facing challenge or investigation by regulatory or enforcement bodies.
Much of Katharine's work is confidential and can only be referenced in general terms. She has acted for individuals in relation to the Libor and current foreign exchange investigations. She has also advised individuals in relation to concerns regarding market abuse and personal account dealing.
Katharine's work often includes a cross-jurisdictional element and she has worked with clients in respect of alleged regulatory breaches in investigations led by the DoJ (US Department of Justice), and the CME (Chicago Mercantile Exchange). She has also worked on a number of high profile SFO investigations.
