Mishcon Discover

Mishcon Discover is a standalone eDiscovery business set up by Mishcon de Reya. It is run by an experienced team of qualified eDiscovery experts, all of whom have experience of working within law firms. Behind the product sits a partnership between the leading provider of eDiscovery services, Inventus, and the document review platform Relativity from kCura. Mishcon de Reya was the first law firm in the UK to launch a fully managed in-house eDiscovery offering.

The benefits of TAR (Technology Aided Review) are becoming widely known, especially since its acceptance by the Courts. TAR can ensure that most document review exercises are not only faster but, critically, more accurate than human-driven review, and is generally more cost-effective. Our licensing arrangement means that we can provide access to this technology and harness its benefits without having to pay upfront costs.

The Mishcon Discover team is an integral part of our dispute resolution offering and work side by side with our lawyers. Because of this, they have a deep understanding of the cases, often taking part in the very earliest conversations around litigation strategy and are involved in all stages of the disclosure process, from collection through to production. The team is invested in the cases and their outcomes and their emphasis is always on deploying the most appropriate technology at the right time.

Since its launch, Mishcon Discover has worked on matters that have involved up to 10 million documents. We have found that it not only allows more time for our lawyers and clients to develop the strategic direction, but also provides greater cost predictability, something we know to be a critical factor for in-house counsel and clients.

As part of our 10-Year Vision to become a fully technology-enabled firm, we are continuing to invest in our eDiscovery technologies and are developing further competences to assist with additional tasks either side of the disclosure phase.
