This can include working with our Corporate team to ensure that the right people are in place, or are transferred from another business in the case of mergers and acquisitions, spin offs, management buy-outs, reorganisations, joint ventures and new business start-ups. We join forces with our Dispute Resolution team to provide advice on professional disciplinary issues, internal investigations and regulatory matters. And collaboration with our Private team allows us to help entrepreneurs and owners of family enterprises address the unique challenges they can face in managing their businesses both now and in the future.
The team are high level strategists, with a fearlessness based on experience, and have a deep understanding of both the mediation and judicial system, frequently managing litigation in the Employment Tribunal, High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court on issues including discrimination, whistleblowing and unlawful competition, including the enforcement of restrictive covenants. We are risk managers, with a very good understanding of when to take risks and when to minimise them. We are adept at applying proportionate force at the appropriate time to offer clients the best chance of success.
We act as a trusted advisor to our clients across all business sectors, with a particular emphasis on financial services, fashion and retail, and the luxury and media sectors and have significant experience dealing with the complexities of LLPs, private equity and venture capital firms. We work with them to build their businesses via restructures, mergers or acquisitions; and to defend against claims, resolve disputes and manage investigations and litigation. We frequently advise on large scale strategic projects, executive remuneration, incentives and business immigration.
We also work with Senior Executives, CEOs and Non-Executive Directors, across all sectors, from finance and banking to sport, to manage their personal employment law needs. This ranges from negotiating the terms on which they enter or exit employment, to resolving disputes, or representing them in regulatory investigations and proceedings (such as LIBOR).
