    The UKIPO’s new Design Practice Notice brings much-needed clarity to registering digital designs, including animations and GUIs, setting out practical filing requirements and common pitfalls. It highlights the importance of presenting a clear, unitary design and using representations effectively to avoid objections. With differences emerging between UK and EU regimes, designers must also carefully plan and co-ordinate their international filing strategies from the outset.
