Mergers and Acquisitions: Singapore

The UK left the EU on 31 January 2020. A transition period, during which EU laws continue to apply in the UK, is due to end on 31 December 2020. The UK/EU Withdrawal Agreement sets out transitional arrangements and negotiations for the future UK/EU relationship are ongoing.

We have an in depth understanding of the dynamics of the South East Asia market and of the needs of private investors and family offices looking to invest and operate here.

Successful M&A work is an end-to-end operation: identifying opportunities, initiating negotiations and then guiding the client through the process to a successful transaction. It is about forging a relationship in which we are advisors and partners, not just lawyers. We work closely with family offices and private companies and investors across a broad range of sectors, advising on matters including private capital investments, joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions.

Many of our clients rely on us for their investments into developing and frontier markets, in SE Asia as well as in Africa, having identified exciting investment opportunities, including mass consumer industries as well as extractives. These investors demand a high return for their level of risk. Doing business in developing and frontier markets offers unique opportunities and challenges, requiring a particular understanding of the political and regulatory context. We have a breadth of experience working in the natural resources sector and an excellent understanding of the companies that operate within it. Our experience includes advising on all aspects of company transactional work, including mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, joint ventures, re-organisations, disputes and reputational matters.
