HR Advisory & Contractual Documentation (Employment)

HR Advisory & Employment Documentation

The UK left the EU on 31 January 2020. A transition period, during which EU laws continue to apply in the UK, is due to end on 31 December 2020. The UK/EU Withdrawal Agreement sets out transitional arrangements and negotiations for the future UK/EU relationship are ongoing.

We cannot over-emphasise the importance of well-drafted employment contracts and policies to protect both employers and employees and help ensure the smooth running of a business. Investing in quality documents not only clarifies the rights and obligations of both parties but also helps ensure that any disputes can be resolved quickly and in a cost-efficient manner that preserves relationships.

We work closely with our clients to cope with the complexities of day-to-day employment law issues. By anticipating and dealing with problems before they escalate, we protect clients from the risk of claims. Besides the ongoing HR needs of the business and any ad hoc queries, we also work with clients on large-scale strategic projects and HR audits.

We draft and advise on all employment documentation, safeguarding the rights of both employers and employees. Documents include employment contracts and directors' service agreements, HR polices and handbooks, staff consultation and engagement agreements, consultancy agreements and our Mishcon Enable document packages.

A significant proportion of our clients have international concerns. We understand the importance of managing issues at a global level and are very experienced working in different countries. Whether domestic or international, we deal with the full spectrum of employment issues, including HR strategy, diversity and gender pay reporting obligations, performance management, disciplinaries and grievances, flexible working and compliance with family friendly legislation, as well as collaborating proactively with our clients to ensure adequate policies, procedures and training processes are in place.
