Phil Robinson

Phil is a Corporate Partner in the Innovation Department and member of the firm's Defence Sector Group. Phil’s practice centres on venture capital and technology transactions, with a particular focus on supporting founders and high-growth companies throughout their journey, from incorporation and early-stage funding, through complex financings, restructurings (including international expansion and US flips), and ultimately to exit. Phil has particular experience supporting companies in the defence, dual use and ai space.

He also acts for a range of active institutional investors and family offices backing these businesses, giving him a well-rounded perspective on both sides of the table.

Phil is a regular presenter at Janus Allies, the delivery partner for NATO DIANA and UK Defence Innovation.

• Advised Fluidstack Limited, an international ai infrastructure company, on its $830m series A financing at a valuation of $7.5bn.
• Advised multiple defence tech companies on priced and convertible financing rounds.
• Advised US based defence fund Green Flag Ventures on several investments in UK companies, including Ukrainian defence tech company, Falcons.
• Advised a syndicate of investors led by ETF Capital Partners on a $50m Series B investment into space technology business Open Cosmos.
• Advised Generation Phoenix on its $15m Series A investment by Material Impact.
• Advised Ruka Hair, a hair and beauty innovation business on several funding rounds including recently a round led by Big Issue Invest.
• Advised Suvera, a health tech company on its £5m financing led by Morningside Ventures.
• Advised Wordpress hosting business Kinsta on its investment by McCarthy Capital.
• Advised the management team of a ai data infrastructure business on the buyout of institutional investors.
• Advised an automated ai powered treasury business on its seed investment round.
• Advised Antobot a UK-based start-up developing affordable robotics for sustainable agriculture, on a £1.2 million seed funding round from a leading automotive electronics solutions provider in China, Intron Technology Holdings Ltd.

• Advised Megasoft Limited on the acquisition by its subsidiary of precision engineering solutions and metal treatments business Nasmyth Group Limited
• Advised the management team and other shareholders on the sale of London-headquartered RegTech and global operational risk AI and technology provider Acin Limited to CUBE, a global leader in Automated Regulatory Intelligence (ARI) and Regulatory Change Management (RCM)
• Advised the shareholders of Progression, a London-based SaaS software company on their sale to US based Careerminds, a leading provider of global outplacement and career development solutions
• Advised a LSE listed business on three strategic acquisitions
