Welcome to the latest edition of Inside Cambridge: your quarterly dose of what’s new, what’s next, and what’s brilliant in our corner of the world.
This issue, we’re delighted to feature the legendary David Cleevely, who reminds us that serendipity is less about luck and more about being in the right place (which we think is Cambridge, naturally!) where you will find and meet the right people.
Since the last issue we have been hosting some of the brightest minds and boldest ideas in our beautiful Station Square office, including at our annual Tech Showcase event just before Cambridge Tech Week. Miserable weather and issues with the trains couldn't stop us or the entrepreneurs demonstrating their wares to a packed office. Huge thanks to my team for making this such a success.
So, what's included in our sixth issue of Inside Cambridge?
We analyse a House of Lords committee's report on the "national crisis of growth" in the science and technology sectors, and how the government can address the issue. We tackle greenwashing, with practical guidance to help businesses stay on the right side of the sustainability agenda.
On the deal front, we’re proud to have advised CuspAI on their $100 million Series A – proof that Cambridge innovation, with a little Mishcon magic, can go global. And speaking of recognition, we’re celebrating top-tier rankings in The Legal 500 across 17 practice areas, plus a small army of individually ranked lawyers. Not that we’re counting.
We’re also proud to be championing diversity with our Women of the Arc initiative, supporting female founders, investors and business leaders across the Oxford-Cambridge-London corridor. And, because compliance never sleeps, we’re ready for the new Companies House ID verification rules – and making sure our clients are too.
Finally, for those navigating international expansion, our MDR ONE handbooks are here to make life a little easier when you are working out how to hire and grow your teams overseas, in almost every country you can think of.
Enjoy the issue, and do feel free to come by the office and say hello if you fancy a cuppa on the way to the station. You're always welcome, and if you have any feedback, we’re always listening.
