In this session, chaired by John Spindler, CEO, Capital Enterprise, we will hear from founders, investors and influencers in the tech start-up world on how early-stage tech businesses are coming out of the crisis, what the landscape looks like and what types of opportunities they can look to embrace.

Speakers:

  • John Spindler is the CEO of Capital Enterprise, and Founder/General Partner of AI Seed and London Co-Investment Fund, which is supported by the London Mayor. The highly regarded entrepreneur, investor and venture capitalist has a career spanning more than 15 years, and has been a key player in establishing a culture of innovation and investment in the UK’s fast-growing tech scene. He is also a director of Conception X, an accelerator programme for PHDs backed by Barclays.
  • Andrew Wolfin is a Corporate Partner at Mishcon de Reya and the lead partner for M:Tech, Mishcon de Reya's legal mentoring and advice programme for early-stage tech companies. He is a highly experienced transactional and commercial advisory lawyer, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, shareholders' agreements and complex commercial contracts. His work is both in the UK and overseas, with a particular focus on entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs.
  • Sherry Coutu is a serial entrepreneur, founder and angel investor. She founded M:Tech business Workfinder, as well as Founders4Schools and chairs or has chaired Founders4Schools, Workfinder, Raspberry Pi, Digital Boost and The ScaleUp Institute. She also serves as a non-executive Director of Pearson plc, London Stock Exchange plc and as a Trustee of Raspberry Pi Foundation.
  • Sam Hussain is the Founder and CEO of M:Tech business Log my Care, a software start-up that aims to digitise and modernise the social care industry. The business has raised £1m in investment and now has a team of 8 based near Old Street in London, with their software used in hundreds of organisations and by thousands of carers every day.
  • Camille Rougié is the Co-Founder and CEO of M:Tech business Plural AI, an AI fintech start-up providing a knowledge-based search engine for the finance industry. Camille previously had eight years' experience in finance (investment banking and private equity) and spent two years at fintech start-up MarketInvoice, where she launched new products worth £1m in revenue to the business.
