Life Sciences

Our Life Sciences team comprises lawyers with science and technology backgrounds, all of whom routinely give advice on both contentious and non-contentious matters. Our professionals have gained experience in law firms and in-house in the UK, United States and Europe.  The team includes fluent French, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Hebrew speakers. With our main office in London, the future home of the Life Sciences division of the Unified Patent Court, we are well-placed to provide a full service offering.

Our litigation practice focuses on patent, regulatory, major contract and competition law disputes across the Life Sciences sector.  Known for our nimble and creative approach, when necessary we aggressively pursue every avenue to protect our clients' interests.  In particular, our regular use of civil search and asset freezing orders in counterfeit pharmaceutical and agrochemical cases sets us apart from our competitors.

On the transactional and regulatory side, we advise clients on the full range of commercial agreements including licences, research and development agreements, large-scale clinical trial programmes and technology transfer.  As both litigators and transactional lawyers, we add value by identifying and averting problems before they arise and by ensuring the best prospects of a successful resolution if they do.

Our clients range from multi-nationals to start-ups, operating in the pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, agrochemical, crop science and veterinary medicine fields.  The Life Sciences team also works with academic institutions and non-profits, tailoring legal solutions in recognition of their institutional needs and risk preferences.
