Mishcon de Reya named 7th in Sunday Times 'Best Companies to Work For' List

Mishcon de Reya was today named the seventh best company to work for in the UK, the eighth consecutive year it has appeared in the Sunday Times list, and its highest ranking to date. The Firm is again the highest law firm to feature, and this year also received additional recognition for its charitable and social impact work, receiving the 'Giving Something Back' award for its many social initiatives.

Mishcon's position in the list reflects its dedication to employee development, illustrated by the agile working initiative launched this year to enable employees to manage their time in a way that gives them the best work/life balance. 82% of staff felt that their job is good for personal growth, while 87% stated they were excited about where the firm is going. The Sunday Times also highlighted the impact of The Academy – representative of the firm's stated intention to become a learning environment, create thought leaders in the field of the law and maximise its impact on society.

The 'Giving Something Back' Award highlighted Mishcon's numerous social responsibility initiatives, including its partnership with literacy charity Beanstalk and its sponsorship of the Southbank Centre's first festival on children's rights: 'WHY? What's Happening for the Young?', held last October. Other charitable causes supported by the firm include Silver Line, a confidential helpline for older people; and numerous environmental initiatives such as Play Sow and Grow, a community hub in Stratford; Coram's Fields City Farm, and Urban Orchard Project, which plants trees in unused community spaces.

Commenting on the achievement, Mishcon de Reya's Managing Partner, Kevin Gold, said: "It is an enormous achievement to make the top ten in The Sunday Times' Best Companies list, and to once again be the highest law firm to feature. We also take great pride in having been recognised for the 'Giving Something Back' Award. Our core values shape everything we do at Mishcon, and social responsibility is at the heart of them. That 89% of staff appreciate that the firm has a strong social conscience is testament to the investment we are making in bringing this to life."

The Sunday Times rankings are compiled from staff responses across eight different areas, also including staff wellbeing and compensation, their thoughts about immediate management and opportunities for personal career growth as well as corporate social responsibility.
