Alexander Rhodes and Polly Green have written in Law.com International on the duty of lawyers to use the law to accelerate the transition to sustainability.
They note that our existing legal frameworks are struggling to address today’s challenges and argue that a more concerted effort at reform is required, driven by the legal profession and making best use of the law.
They wrote: “As lawyers, it is our responsibility to make the case for the contribution the law can make. Now is the time to move from the age of instruction to the age of anticipation: to be pro-active, harness the law’s potential and unlock possibilities others do not see.”
