You are here: Home Splitting Up – A Child's Guide to a Grown Up Problem Children's charity Place2Be and Mishcon de Reya have produced a book written for adults by children on the topic of parental separation. ‘I kept asking myself, why is this happening?’ How did you feel when your parents split up? How has it affected you? How are you coping now? Too often, these questions are not asked and the voices of children are not heard. In this unique book, children of various ages from different backgrounds - with one shared experience - offer up their feelings on the grown up problem of splitting up. They give advice to separating parents on how best to support their child, and offer their support to other children in a similar situation. In response, an expert offers insight and practical guidance on how to address some of the issues raised in each chapter. Splitting Up – A Child's Guide to a Grown Up Problem is now available to buy on Amazon. All proceeds go to Place2Be. This book was produced by Mishcon de Reya in partnership with children's charity Place2Be, with input from the Voices in the Middle project, in order to raise awareness of the thoughts and feelings of children who are dealing with parental separation.
