“The Entrepreneur Ship” duo successfully break world record rowing across the Atlantic

Posted on 4 February 2022

Guy Rigby, 68, and David Murray, 56, have become the oldest pair ever to row across any ocean - in 'The Entrepreneur Ship’, a 24-foot rowing boat - alongside 35 other teams at this year’s Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. The pair are proudly supported by Mishcon de Reya.

Guy and David made the row to raise funds for UnLtd, a charity that finds, funds and supports entrepreneurs from marginalised communities. The charity is committed to inclusion, with 50% of its funding awards going to social entrepreneurs from marginalised communities.

Having set off on 12 December from La Gomera in the Canary Islands, the pair rowed for two-hours-on-and-two-hours-off for 50 days across 3,000 nautical miles – facing wind and 20ft waves while living on dehydrated food rations – and successfully reached Antigua today.

To date, Guy and David have raised a total of over £600,000.

Guy Rigby said: “We are incredibly grateful for the donations which have been pouring in for Unltd, to support social entrepreneurs start and build businesses that are beneficial to their communities and the wider world. We look forward to helping execute the deployment of these funds once we arrive back on land.”
