Mishcon de Reya have been supporting proposals to afford legal protection to whistleblowers. This morning, two former cabinet ministers have backed calls for the introduction of legal protection for civil servants who leak official secrets that are in the public interest.
Partner Ben Brandon added his support when he was interviewed by Matt Chorley on Times Radio. Ben said;
"How I would like to see the law change is for a public interest defence be available to civil servants and potentially others who disclose information that is in the public interest."
