Video: Fitness and propriety in a world of individual accountability, non-financial misconduct and a regulator under pressure

Posted on 15 June 2021

Fitness and propriety (F&P) remains the cornerstone of the FCA's approach to regulated individuals. But with the regulators' push towards individual accountability and the relevance of non-financial misconduct, it has to bear an increasingly heavy load. The FCA is under renewed political and public pressure to perform. But in the meantime under the SMCR it is regulated firms that have to interpret and apply fitness and propriety day-to-day.

Click here to watch our webinar, hosted in association with Lexology, on recent trends in respect of F&P and practical insights from our regulatory team as to how best to navigate these waters, including:

  • Individual accountability: Senior Managers and the Duty of Responsibility
  • Recent case law on F&P
  • Non-financial misconduct: What we know about the FCA's intentions and its limits, and the interaction with employment concepts
  • SMCR and the day-to-day applications of F&P
