Heidi Walsh, Managing Associate in the International Arbitration Group, has written a chapter in a new anthology titled Digital Hearing – Civil Procedures and Arbitration.
Her chapter focuses on how digital hearing can help to fight climate change, providing an overview over how the use of digital hearings changed over the last couple of years, in particular, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The anthology is a collection of in-depth submissions on digital hearings from renowned judges, arbitrators, counsel and scholars with extensive experience with digital procedures in court and in arbitration. It delves into what digital procedures are, the arguments in their favour and when to proceed wholly or partially with digital features.
It also examines how to best plan, organize and execute an effective digital procedure that does not undercut the fundamentals of civil litigation or arbitration, including the due process of law.
The book will be launched on 13 October 2022 in Stockholm at the offices of Roschier's.
