Champions of UK entrepreneurs join forces to launch new package for start-ups

Posted on 2 November 2011

Mishcon de Reya has today launched a unique business package for start-up companies in association with Huddlebuy, the “group buying” website for entrepreneurs and start-ups.

The initiative, START, aims to help kick-start new entrepreneurial ventures by providing a fixed price package of essential legal products and services for businesses with two or more people, addressing their employment, intellectual property (IP), corporate and real estate legal needs. It includes contracts for employees, advice on IP ownership, an agreement to document the relationship between founder shareholders and tips for renting office space or working from home. START also includes a consultation with a solicitor.

The package will be offered alongside Huddlebuy’s ‘STARTER Kits’ of business products and services enabling start-up businesses to establish a marketing and technical infrastructure as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. Businesses that participate in the START programme will receive a free Marketing & Sales STARTER Kit and the option of heavily discounted Website and Tech & Telecoms STARTER Kits.

Nick Davis, Head of Corporate at Mishcon de Reya, said: “We recognise that start-ups need significant assistance when setting up their new businesses. We have used our experience in advising entrepreneurs to create a package that offers vital legal advice, and we have selected Huddlebuy to partner with as they are revolutionising the way in which small businesses can purchase the essential goods and services that growing businesses need.”

Saurav Chopra, Co-Founder and CEO of Huddlebuy, added: “At Huddlebuy, we fight for big savings for small businesses. Our research found that businesses with fewer than 10 staff - which together employ more than 4.5 million people across the UK - are paying up to three times more for goods and services than larger companies. Our ‘STARTER Kits’ aim to reduce this massive gap and ensure that entrepreneurs and start-ups can hit the ground running from day one at minimal cost”.

Mishcon de Reya is actively committed to supporting UK entrepreneurialism and the Government’s call to an enterprise-led recovery. In November 2010, the Firm commissioned and co-authored ‘The Entrepreneurship Report’, in conjunction with the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). The findings of this report provided the organisations with valuable insight into the areas in which entrepreneurs require support and guidance, and have helped shape initiatives such as START.
