The creativity and scale to handle any dispute

350 litigators. 40 disputes services. A creative, strategic approach.

Disputes are becoming increasingly complex, multi-faceted and international. Our clients therefore require flexibility, agility and a range of tools to tackle any situation.

No litigation playbook

Breadth, range and scale

Resolving disputes is in our DNA

Innovators

Charging in without a plan can lead to unintended outcomes; one of the reasons we've never had, and never will have, a litigation playbook: both sides work through their rigid approaches until one side runs out of money and then you settle. Whose interests does that serve? By being dogmatic in your approach you lose sight of the outcome that your client needs.

We create a bespoke strategy, we prioritise the needs of the individual and the organisation in front of us; all of which means we can respond when things change and drive towards our clients' best interests.

For us, resolving disputes means solving problems. It means applying sensitivity. It means total commitment.

Over half our lawyers are litigators – more than 350 - we offer more than 40 disputes services, from investigations to fraud to the largest commercial cases. Because of our size and offering, we can assemble teams for specific needs and unusual circumstances.

Look at the headlines below to see the depth and breadth of what we do.

We operate in every jurisdiction, yet we are agile and creative. We don't like the phrase "best of both worlds", but in this case it applies – big enough to handle anything, with a broad enough capability to apply almost any tool, flexible and broad minded enough to think ahead.

Our litigation department was born from our private client heritage and a deeply felt imperative to fiercely guard our clients' interests. It means we think differently about our clients and the law, enabling us to deliver at the edge of what’s possible (for them).  We are inventive, resourceful and broad-minded. We deploy empathy as much as assertiveness; some situations require aggression, some require an arm around the shoulder. We call it "proportionate force at the appropriate moment".

Our commitment to innovate comes from our expansive view of the world, and is borne out by our first to market e-discovery, our track record of developing novel funding arrangements, our use of data science, and deploying non-legal experts (including cyber security and forensics) when needed.

After years of acting for claimants in group actions and class actions, we have invested in a claims management platform (Somos) to support this work.

We use a range of tools and technology to streamline and enhance the delivery of our services. We augment our internal platform (deReyAI) with external AI tools and AI-enabled features of technologies including Legora, Relativity, and Microsoft CoPilot. As early movers in this space, our clients can be confident in our AI usage and data security policies.
