Catherine Banton is a Managing Associate in the Real Estate Dispute Resolution Group in the firm's Real Estate department.

She  has experience advising clients (including investors, developers and occupiers) on all types of commercial property disputes including landlord and tenant disputes (such as rent reviews, breaches of covenant, renewal of business tenancies, forfeiture and lease breaks),  claims in relation to development agreements, rights of light, party wall awards, easements, restrictive covenants, nuisance and trespass claims.

Catherine is a member of the Property Litigation Association.

Key Experience

  • Acting for a private property developer in a £90million high Court dispute relating to specific performance of a property sale contract
  • Acting for a large property investor / tenant in a rent review arbitration worth over £100million across the term of the lease
  • Successfully defending, at the First –Tier Tribunal, a large-scale   residential service charge dispute relating to a multi-let building in London.
