Profile

Peter is a Partner specialising in intellectual property, commercial and technology disputes.

He advises on all forms of intellectual property disputes, including trade mark, designs, copyright, patents, database rights and trade secrets.  He has acted on several of the UK's leading IP infringement claims.

Peter is equally adept with commercial disputes, where his expertise in licensing, contractual and tortious claims enables him to consider all possible angles.  He advises on high profile commercial disputes in areas such as technology, sponsorship, franchising and data exploitation.

Peter heads up Mishcon's Confidential Information and Trade Secrets group (recommended by World Intellectual Property Review's Global Trade Secrets Rankings), advising clients on both the protection, and enforcement, of their trade secrets and confidential information.

He advises clients from all sectors, including AI, automotive, technology, engineering and luxury goods.  This includes advice on IP protection, and potential infringement risks, with a particular specialism in generative AI.

Pursuing his interest in sports, Peter advises sports clubs, regulatory bodies, athletes and intermediaries on all forms of dispute resolution, including regulatory, commercial and licensing issues. Recent experience includes acting on disciplinary proceedings before the International Cricket Board's Anti-Corruption panel, a claim by a Premier League Club against its former kit sponsor, the termination of a shirt sponsorship deal with another Premier League club, a dispute between a leading darts player and his former sponsor, and a trade mark claim against a Formula One team. Peter also advises betting companies on the protection and exploitation of rights in sports data.

Peter is described in Chambers & Partners as "a fantastic litigator", in World Trademark Review 1000 as having "a deep understanding and a talent for making the right call", and in IAM Patent / Trade Secrets as "a masterful problem solver with an ability to swiftly and effectively resolve disputes".
