Alex is an Associate in the Family department. He advises clients in all aspects of Family Law, including: divorce and dissolution of civil partnerships; financial remedy proceedings and enforcement; private law children matters; pre- and post-nuptial agreements; cohabitation matters; and international surrogacy and adoption.
His cases are often complex and multi-jurisdictional in nature. Previously he has also acted for clients in the Court of Protection, and in the High Court in relation to Inheritance Act claims.
Alex regularly writes about Family Law matters in both professional and lay publications and is a member of Pink Law, a pro-bono legal advice service for the LGBT community.
- Estrada v Al-Juffali  EWHC 213 (Fam) – High Court: Part of the legal team acting for the husband in an application to strike-out the wife's claim for financial relief under Part III of the Matrimonial & Family Proceedings Act 1984 on the basis that his diplomatic immunity protected him from civil claims
- Part of the legal team representing a Jersey-based client in his appeal to the Privy Council from the Jersey Court of Appeal, in a matter relating to child maintenance and the definition of "parent"
