Managing Associate

Personal Profile

Louise is a Managing Associate in the Employment Department. She specialises in employment law and has significant experience advising both employers and employees on contentious and non-contentious matters. These include appointments, terminations, redundancies, unfair and wrongful dismissal, discrimination, harassment, victimisation and whistleblowing. Louise also advises on day-to-day HR issues and disputes relating to restrictive covenants and breaches of confidentiality. Louise regularly advises on the drafting and negotiation of employment contracts, consultancy arrangements and settlement agreements.

Louise has experience of judicial mediation and litigating in both the Employment Tribunal and High Court. She has also advised on the employment aspects of corporate transactions, including share and business sales and IPOs. She works across a range of business sectors including technology, financial services, music, media and property and retail.

She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

Louise has been a trustee of the Angel Shed Theatre Company in Islington since May 2017.

Key Experience

  • Regularly advising employees in all sectors on their employment contracts, settlement agreements, redundancies, bonus/incentive issues and family-friendly matters.
  • Advised an interior design company in relation to breaches of confidence and restrictive covenants by a former senior employee.

  • Advised two senior employees in a claim for whistleblowing unfair dismissal in the Employment Tribunal.
  • Represented a senior surgeon on a successful application for injunctive relief in the High Court.

  • Acted for an investment and wealth management firm defending a disability discrimination and constructive dismissal claim in the Employment Tribunal.
  • Acted for a major retail client defending claims for unfair dismissal, holiday pay and a failure to inform and consult on a TUPE transfer, and led the subsequent judicial mediation and settlement of the dispute prior to the full Tribunal hearing.

  • Advised a multinational corporation on restructuring programmes across Europe.
