Mishcon de Reya advises the management team of Care UK on exit by Bridgepoint

Mishcon de Reya’s Private Equity team has advised the management team of Care UK on the sale of the business by Bridgepoint. This transaction has seen the establishment of a new operating company set up by Care UK's management and involved over a hundred care homes.   

Care UK, a provider of high-quality care for elderly people for over 40 years, offers residential, nursing, day, respite, dementia and end-of-life care to over 8,500 families across England, Wales and Scotland.   

The team at Mishcon de Reya was led by Nadim Meer, and comprised lawyers from the firm's Private Equity, Commercial Contracts, Tax, Real Estate, and Employment teams. The team included James Paterson, Lizzie Wilson, Olivia WoodheadKarine Bashardust from the Private Equity team, and Lewis Cohen and Reema Sharma from the Commercial team.  

The deal involved complex property and development work, on which William ChungJustine Ayto and Ceinwen Hayes supported, with Eve DrysdaleStephen Elhabbal, and John Skoulding advising on tax matters. Sarah Spurling and Danae Constantine handled financing and banking work, and Margarita Elia and Liz Hunter advised on employment matters.
