Alexa is a Managing Associate, Knowledge Lawyer (Barrister) in the Innovation department. She supports the Commercial, Technology, Life Sciences, Data and Interactive Entertainment teams. Alexa designs and delivers training and leads on AI adoption across her teams. Her training is delivered both within Mishcon and to in-house legal teams and clients. She is also studying for the Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching at AoEC.
She was awarded the Middle Temple Diplock Scholarship to train at the Bar and qualified as a barrister in 2010 at One Brick Court, a leading media and defamation chambers. She went on to work in-house and spent 10 years, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts at BBC Studios and Hachette UK. Whilst working in-house she gained experience in a wide range of areas including marketing, digital gaming, prize competitions, technology and intellectual property.
Alexa has a passion for training. She studied Social and Political Sciences at Cambridge University where she was awarded the Ruth Cohen Memorial Prize for an outstanding first-class dissertation in educational psychology and completed the Graphic Design: An Introduction course at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. She also won the award of Best Presentation at the Shell Technology and Enterprise Programme Gloucestershire finals. She designs and delivers training internally and externally, in person, hybrid, online, and through on-demand videos and interactive e-learning courses. She runs internal training sessions and a bi-annual Commercial Contracts Training Workshop Day which is open to external attendees. She also builds bespoke training sessions for clients and produces the Retail Horizon Scan which tracks upcoming legal developments. Her training style is interactive including hands-on exercises looking at how commercial contracts are negotiated and used in practice.
In relation to AI, Alexa has developed AI training sessions for her teams, delivered one-to-one AI training and built AI workflows which are now used firmwide. Alexa featured in Legora's "Shapers" blog, where she discussed storytelling, AI and legal training. Read the interview here.
