Disputes Essentials: That settles it! How to resolve disputes and what to look out for

DateTimeIn-Person

Join us for our next Disputes Essentials breakfast seminar covering the latest updates and practical insights on essential disputes-related topics.

Disputes are inevitable, but litigation is rare. The vast majority of claims are resolved by agreement well before trial. The Courts are increasingly encouraging such resolutions, recently being empowered to order parties to participate in mediation and other forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

However, getting to that agreement can be challenging, and even when you think you have a deal there a still a number of pitfalls to be alive to. In this session our panel of experts will discuss how to resolve disputes without recourse to the courts, and the issues that can arise when doing so. The discussion will cover issues such as: the use of ADR, "without prejudice" negotiations, and Part 36 offers; the role of third party backers such as insurers or funders in settlement discussions;  and how to deal with complex disputes such, as fraud claims or multi-party disputes, in settlements.

These events are for in-house lawyers, barristers, accountants, insolvency practitioners, project managers/directors and investigators.
