Susan Breen, Partner and Head of the Betting & Gaming Group, took part in a panel on M&A Appetite in Asia post COVID-19 at the SiGMA Focus Asia (Digital) Summit. The summit focussed on the future of gaming in Asia, looking at regulation and compliance, the rise of eSports, blockchain and emerging markets.
Susan's panel, chaired by Eman Pulis, Founder of SiGMA Group, comprised Robin Reed, CEO of Ichiban, and Rob Dowling, Managing Partner at Partis Solutions, who discussed the appetite for M&A in Asia in the gaming and i-gaming sphere in light of COVID-19 and the biggest drivers for M&A. The panel also discussed some trends coming from the West that we are likely to see in Asia, including an increased focus from both regulators and operators on understanding customer data, the changing behaviours of operators, emerging technologies changing the sector and the need for operators to become even more innovative to deal with the fallout from COVID-19.
