Personal Profile

Connor is an Associate in the Commercial Litigation team.

He has experience advising on complex, multijurisdictional English court proceedings at both High Court and Court of Appeal level, with a varied practice spanning challenges to arbitral awards, civil fraud, competition litigation, and contractual disputes. He has acted for a variety of clients including sovereign states, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, technology companies and corporates.

Connor has a particular interest in environmental and climate change strategic litigation, funded group actions and cases with a political element.   

Key experience

  • Federal Republic of Nigeria v P&ID (2023) - Acting for the Government of Nigeria in applying to set aside an $11 billion arbitral award arising from a failed gas deal, on the basis that the underlying contract and the award itself were procured through fraud and corruption.
  • Stonegate Farmers & Ors v. Kent & Ors – Acted on a claim for c. £150m concerning breaches of directors' duties, breach of competition law undertakings, and an unlawful means conspiracy/conspiracy to injure.
  • Clarence Court Eggs Limited v. Chapman & Anor [2022] EWCA Civ 1681- Acted on the successful appeal of a summary judgment application concerning whether the retention, assignment and/or exercise of a call option over highly valuable agricultural land infringed undertakings given to the Competition and Markets Authority.
  • Rowland v Stanford [2021] EWHC 988 (Ch), [2021] EWHC 1682 - Acted on a successful application for Norwich Pharmacal relief in relation to the unauthorised disclosure and selective publication of a cache of private and confidential documents.
