Mishcon de Reya Employment Associate, Rhiannon Bail has been quoted in Women's Wear Daily in an article discussing the lack of diversity in the fashion industry and, specifically, the challenges that diversity poses for executive search professionals.
Rhiannon commented that in order to attract a more diverse pool, recruiters and employers need to cast a critical eye over "where they are looking for candidates, how they are advertising roles, and what they themselves are saying and doing in relation to diversity and inclusion."
Rhiannon also explained that it necessitates a change in culture, which is not something that companies can simply magic up overnight. “It’s much deeper than that. However, I have seen more appetite for organizations to take action and change in the last few weeks than I’ve seen for a long time: This is definitely a positive sign and much credit for this goes to the Black Lives Matter movement and others around the world fighting for equality.”
