As recently reported by Investment Week, the Private Markets Forum has now launched, with Mishcon de Reya as a founding member.
Established by JP Jenkins and InfinitX, the Forum aims to improve the efficiency, transparency and resilience of the UK’s private markets infrastructure. Mishcon de Reya joins other founding members, including Winterflood, Euroclear, Asset Match and JMW Solicitors.
The Private Markets Forum's ambitions are to create a space where all stakeholders can discuss the various complexities and potential hurdles facing the UK's private markets landscape. Participants will continue to support regulators and policymakers on areas such as the Private Intermittent Securities and Capital Exchange System (PISCES) to deliver the Government's growth agenda.
Arthur Horsfall and Nicholas McVeigh from Mishcon's Corporate team are participating in the forum, building on the firm’s ongoing work around PISCES. Mishcon de Reya has been at the forefront of developments in this area, having extensively reported on the PISCES initiative and responded to consultation papers from both the Treasury and the Financial Conduct Authority. This expertise positions the firm to contribute to the forum's objectives of supporting regulatory and policy development in the private markets space.
The Forum has already held several meetings and has shared its views with the Treasury and the Financial Conduct Authority. Looking ahead, the Private Markets Forum's aim is to publish papers consolidating views, opinions and research pieces regarding UK private markets.
Joining as a founding member underlines Mishcon's ongoing engagement with policymakers on private market development and the firm’s continued commitment to supporting the UK's growth agenda through enhanced market infrastructure.
