On 14 June 2023, we were pleased to welcome the London Tech Week Latin American and Caribbean delegation to discuss accessing UK opportunities in the innovation economy.
Managing Associate Becki Quick, along with Associates Jessica Domingos Pinto and Kate Morter, formed the all-female legal panel, supported by Vanessa Viana of Capital Lab Ventures and Jonathan Clark and Malcolm Joy from Frazier & Deeter.
They were joined by tech companies, startups and key players in the innovation economy from Latin America and the Caribbean. The 100 plus delegation was lead by Cristiano Andrade, Head for Inward Investment for LATAC region, Department for Business and Trade Deputy, Estefanía Rubiniak, Inward Investment Business Development Manager for the British Embassy Argentina, Sebastian Alvarez Velasquez, Business Development Manager for North at the British Embassy in Colombia and Jorge Loyola Castro, Trade Manager at ProChile.
Becki Quick commented: "It was an absolute pleasure to meet and support such an amazing delegation of tech companies from Latin America and the Caribbean. For the second year running since Covid we have had the opportunity to provide these founders with an investment focussed soft landing event designed to help them navigate the legal and tax environment of the VC economy in the UK. We believe that the UK and its dynamic innovation economy can provide a strategic foothold to support their global expansion plans".
