Posted on 12 January 2021

Mishcon de Reya announced that Ben Lasserson has joined the Firm as Partner in the Competition team, as part of the team's further expansion.

Ben specialises in competition litigation, commercial litigation, international arbitration and other dispute resolution procedures and has a wealth of experience acting for major multinational businesses across a broad range of sectors.

Ben previously led the Competition Litigation practice at Pinsent Masons and was Head of the London office of Strange & Butler.

His experience includes advising a number of multinationals across a range of sectors in respect of damages actions arising from the European Commission’s Trucks cartel decision and acting for a major European investment bank in a cross-Atlantic case in excess of US$1billion. Ben has been recognised as a "future major player" by Legal 500.

Ben will be joining a team of 10, and will be one of four Competition Partners at the Firm. The Mishcon de Reya Competition team has been involved in a number of high profile cases including Sainsbury's v Mastercard led by Partner Rob Murray.

Sarah Houghton, Partner in the Firm's Dispute Resolution Department said: "We are very pleased Ben is joining the Firm. The Competition team is going from strength to strength and this new hire is in response to a growing need from clients looking to bring or defend competition litigation. Ben has a wealth of experience and a great reputation: he will be an asset to the team."

Ben added: "I have known Sarah and Rob professionally for many years, and it is a pleasure to join the Mishcon de Reya team. I believe we share a common drive to lead the market in developing high-profile and often precedent setting cases. I'm excited to get started."
