Head of Impact Kat Barry recently spoke with The Lawyer about Mishcon Purpose and a new system for measuring and tracking the impact of the firm's pro bono and ESG-related work.
The expanded case management system requires lawyers to capture data on the impact of a piece of work and how it helps achieve Mishcon's Impact goals. Tracking this information will allow the firm to assess which matters have the broadest impact and greatest benefit.
Speaking about the value of detailed and robust measurement of impact activities, Kat said: “Lots of people will be able to talk about the responsible business activities that they have, but we would really like to be able to evidence it with a methodology that is robust."
"And I think that’s the challenge. That’s the interesting challenge."
