The Online Safety Bill: Will it make the UK the "safest place in the world to be online"?

DateTimeIn-Person

Join us for an in-person discussion on the Online Safety Bill: the Government's ambitious attempt to regulate online content and prevent the spread of illegal and harmful material.

The panel will discuss key issues such as how the Bill would protect against online harms; whether it should go further; what effect it would have on freedom of speech; and what the role of the regulator would be.

Panellists:

  • Dame Margaret Hodge MP, Labour MP for Barking
  • Mark Bunting, Director of Online Safety Policy at Ofcom
  • Professor Lorna Woods, Professor of Internet Law at The University of Essex
  • Sanjay Bhandari, Chair of Kick It Out

The discussion will be chaired by Harry Eccles-Williams, Managing Associate in the Reputation Protection and Crisis Management team at Mishcon de Reya.

The event is now over. To receive further updates as the Bill progresses, please sign-up to our Online Safety Bill mailing list.
