This live session will be chaired by Gary Miller at Mishcon de Reya and will be held virtually on Zoom.
Human trafficking and modern slavery are thought to be amongst the most widespread crimes in the world, affecting millions of men, women and children each day. Given the hidden nature of human trafficking, is it possible to understand the full scope and scale of the issue and bring change?
Gary Miller will be joined by Ruth Dearnley OBE, CEO of STOP THE TRAFFIK. Through radical information sharing and collaboration creating the pioneering global data hub TRAFFIK ANALYSIS HUB, they are painting the richest global picture of human trafficking hotspots and trends. This is turning insight to action, empowering individuals, organisations and agencies to make more informed and better choices and to signpost those vulnerable to being exploited to safe places to get help and support.
Ruth will discuss how trafficking affects us all, the achievements and challenges and what needs to be done differently in the future to ensure long-lasting change.
