Our International Arbitration team will be exploring the latest issues in international dispute resolution and global arbitration in coming months.
Partner and head of the team Louis Flannery KC will be speaking on emerging trends and challenges as part of India Alternative Dispute Resolution week (10 October, online), as well as at the International Dispute Resolution Institute conference in Durham on 17 October. He will also be speaking on 13 October at "Which Seat of Arbitration to Choose?", a Franco-British Lawyers Society event looking at comparative views on the Law Commission's proposals to modify the Arbitration Act 1996. As a leading authority on the Act, Louis has been at the forefront of discourse on the Law Commission's review, including roles with the steering committee and as a debate participant for this year's Arbitration Act 1996 at 25 event. With the team, he is currently preparing a response to the Law Commission's consultation on the Act, which opened on 22 September 2022.
Aside from the Arbitration Act 1996 review, investor-state disputes expert, partner Alexander Slade, will speak at the 38th ITF public conference on complex arbitration proceedings in investor state disputes.
Looking ahead to November, managing associate Heidi Walsh will speak at Dublin Arbitration Day on 18 November.
