On Tuesday 15 September, Alex Rhodes chaired a panel of leading lawyers as part of The Lawyer's Business Leadership Series titled ' Profitability v Purpose: What do you Stand For as an Organisation'. Other speakers included Tamara Box, Managing Partner, Reed Smith, Alastair Morrison, Partner in Pinsent Masons and Suzanne Liversidge, Global Managing Partner in Kennedys.
The session explored the function and importance of purpose to law firms, especially in the context of dealing with the consequences of the pandemic. The panellists talked about how their firms define and animate their purpose, its relationship with the profit motive, and its role in informing business strategy and decision making.
