Hannah Barnett

Hannah is a Partner in Mishcon Private with expertise across all areas of UK immigration. She specialises in European free movement rights, long residence applications, family-based applications, litigation in the Tribunals and claims for Judicial Review, often with a human rights element.

Hannah acts for both high net worth individuals and businesses on exceptional, complex and multi-jurisdictional matters. Her clients often seek Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK and subsequent British citizenship, which frequently involves complex issues requiring long-term strategic advice.

Hannah is also part of the firm’s business immigration group advising clients in relation to corporate immigration matters. She assists both employees and employers with sponsor licence applications, Skilled Worker and Global Business Mobility visa applications, and general compliance issues.

Hannah regularly assists clients with second citizenship applications and has spent time in different countries regarding economic citizenship programmes.

Hannah is a member of the Surrogacy and Modern Families group, advising clients in relation to overseas surrogacies. She advises families on the UK immigration status of babies born via surrogacy and helps them to navigate the immigration and nationality law complexities to bring the child to the UK as quickly as possible. She has a wealth of experience with British passport, British registration, and visa applications for babies born via surrogacy She is also a legal partner of My Surrogacy Journey, a leading surrogacy organisation that sets the industry standard for surrogacy arrangements both domestically and internationally. She is highly experienced in the law surrounding family creation and has contributed to public events and publications on the topic.
