Stepping up to the Board

An accelerated learning programme for new Board members, including Non-Executive Directors (NEDs)

About the programme

Are you preparing to take on a Board position, have you just started your first appointment, or do you already work as a Director or NED and want to feel more confident in the role?

Stepping up to the Board is a hands-on development programme created to equip you with essential tools, practical skills and connections to maximise your impact and provide valuable, independent oversight. Directors operate in an increasingly complex business environment, under scrutiny from investors, shareholders and regulators. Our programme covers essential governance, strategic and regulatory knowledge, as well as managing reputational risk and tips on working with different personalities. By taking part, you will join a valuable network of peers and mentors who can help you overcome challenges and provide long-term support beyond the classroom.

The programme draws on knowledge from the Mishcon de Reya legal faculty, executive coaches, experienced Directors and NEDs, and experts from the Mishcon Academy. We deliver a thorough and engaging educational journey across four connected modules.
