Israel

Throughout the firm’s history, Mishcon de Reya has acted for clients in Israel and supported Jewish causes in the UK and around the world. The firm's founder, Lord Mishcon, acted as a trusted emissary during the first informal conversations that resulted in the Jordan-Israel peace treaty of 1994. The firm acted for Prof. Deborah Lipstadt in her defence of the claim brought against her by the holocaust denier, David Irving (later made into a feature film, Denial). In 2023, the firm acted on behalf of relatives of hostages taken following the atrocities of October 7 and advised the Union of Jewish Students on tackling antisemitic abuse on campus in the UK.

We have worked with Israeli businesses and families for many decades and represented leading Israeli clients across various sectors, including tech, betting and gaming, natural resources and private clients.

Israel has a thriving technology sector with many of the world's leading developments in tech originating from the country and its businesses and academic institutions. In 2023, the firm merged with Taylor Vinters: a leading law firm in the Innovation economy, and created Mishcon Future offering market leading services to Hi-Tech and Life sciences companies from start up, to scale-up and to mature international companies. The firm now has proximity and strong connections to the Oxford and Cambridge academia and tech ecosystems.

Mishcon de Reya's international strategy is to build a presence in some of the fastest growing economies globally with offices in Singapore and in Hong Kong through our association with Karas So LLP and why we will be opening in Saudi Arabia in early 2024 (subject to final regulatory approvals). Offering this geographic and economic connectivity will be of practical and significant value to Israeli families and companies both domestically and internationally. We are now increasing our support and presence in the Israeli market. Our aim is to expand and deepen our ties with Israeli companies and families.

We have deep and wide connectivity across both the public and private worlds, spanning politics, different business sectors as well as universities and think-tanks. It enables us to connect our clients to a wide range of business and funding opportunities, market insights and sector expertise.
