Lyndsey is a Partner in the Tax Disputes and Investigations team and is also the lead Partner in respect of VAT, Indirect Tax and Customs Duties. Her experience in these fields spans almost 30 years.
Having been called to the Bar in 1995, Lyndsey undertook her pupillage in a highly regarded civil / commercial chambers before joining Deloitte's VAT litigation team. Since then, she has practised in the fields of tax litigation and VAT, Indirect and Customs duties advice in the UK and Australia. She has represented taxpayers and government (having also been appointed to the Attorney General's panel of Counsel in 2018).
Lyndsey has been recognised as a Tier 1 Barrister in the Legal 500 for VAT and Indirect Tax and was shortlisted as Tax Junior of the Year in 2023 and 2024. Despite her clear talents as a barrister in private practice, Lyndsey felt that her practice was deviating from a more 'hands-on' client experience and the ability to provide a 'cradle-to-grave' approach to tax advice and disputes.
Her role at Mishcon's enables her to support clients from the inception of a matter through to representation in the tax tribunals and higher courts. She also works collaboratively with other barristers; bringing in the most appropriate support according to the client's needs and the technical legal issues arising. She has also established a formidable relationship with intermediaries, working together to provide the optimum support and advice to clients where her particular experience and expertise may be needed.
