Lewis works in the Innovation Department at Mishcon de Reya, driving the firm-wide strategy and growth of our Innovation Economy proposition alongside Dan Sinclair and Jeremy Hertzog. With a background as a venture capital lawyer and legal technologist, Lewis has built his experience on different sides of innovation; advising fast-growth companies and investors across the global innovation economy whilst pushing the boundaries of legal service delivery through the use of tech and AI. Lewis has worked across a broad range of projects delivering complex change and new propositions in the legal sector. He now delivers strategic planning, partnerships, programmes, and projects that enable the growth of the Firm's Innovation Economy profile, with a focus particularly on building capability, solutions and targeted go-to-market.
Lewis has developed and launched the US Expansion Programme for growth-stage companies who are expanding to the US. The inaugural cohort in 2026 worked with 17 growth stage companies to provide a structured learning programmes and network access. He works with a number of our GC clients day-to-day on how to embed tech and AI in their functions, deploying legal operations principles, design thinking techniques and change management tactics to effectively enable change. Through the GC Academy, Lewis delivers some of these principles through structured learning programmes. He also works across Mishcon PLUS, the Firm's co-investment programme which deploys capital into early-stage clients.
Lewis was accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Legal Technologist in December 2023, recognising his experience and impact with clients on how to transform traditional legal services and develop new propositions. He has been an academic tutor at the University of Edinburgh on its Diploma in Professional Legal Practice, equipping future lawyers with the skills to leverage technology for the benefit of the firms and clients they are bound to work for.
