Associate

Harrison is an Associate in the Insolvency Litigation team, which forms part of the wider Dispute Resolution group.

Harrison acts for insolvency practitioners, creditors, directors, shareholders and individuals on a range of high-value disputes arising in the context of financial distress and insolvency (e.g., claims brought by and against officeholders, asset recovery, guarantee disputes, director’s duties, transaction avoidance and disqualification proceedings). 

Harrison is also a volunteer with the Royal Courts of Justice Advice Bureau, providing advice to litigants in person with their potential civil claims or proceedings in which they are involved, as well as a supervisor for the SPITE (Sharing Public Images to Embarrass) project, which, in partnership with Queen Mary University, provides pro-bono legal advice to victims of image-based sexual abuse.

During his training at the firm, Harrison completed a secondment at Global Media & Entertainment, and also gained experience in the Private, Commercial Litigation and Employment groups.

Key Experience

  • Acted for the Government of Nigeria in landmark proceedings, following the successful setting aside of a US$11 billion arbitral award arising from a failed gas deal, on the grounds that the award was obtained by fraud
  • Acted for an ultra-high-net worth family in a multi-billion-pound dispute involving allegations of civil fraud across many jurisdictions, including: England, USA, Monaco, Panama, Latvia, Switzerland and Cyprus
  • Acted for an individual in defending a claim of breach of confidence, including urgently challenging a High Court injunction
  • Acted for an individual in a multi-claim dispute against a former business partner, involving the recovery of high-value loans and assets
  • Acts for a company in an arbitration dispute concerning a high-value rescheduled debt
  • Advises creditors on the enforcement of unpaid debts through bankruptcy proceedings
  • Advises insolvency practitioners throughout the course of their appointments from the outset through to conclusion
