Emily is a Partner in Mishcon Purpose. Her practice centres on environment and climate related claims and she acts for a wide range of clients including individuals, families, groups of individuals as well as NGOs and not for profit organisations in asserting their rights and pursuing bad actors. Her background is as a litigator of complex commercial disputes in a variety of forums, and she is accustomed to acting for international clients in complex and multi-faceted disputes. In particular, she has experience in breaches of contract, confidence and fiduciary duty, fraud claims and shareholder disputes.
Emily is also a member of Mishcon's Politics and Law group, and has significant experience in public law matters, as well as political disputes. Notably, she acted for Gina Miller in both of her successful landmark constitutional judicial review cases against the government – the first in 2016 in relation to parliamentary approval of the triggering of Article 50 and the second in 2019 in relation to the legality of the Prime Minister's prorogation of parliament.
Within Mishcon, Emily is co-chair of the Access to Law committee and a member of the Gender Steering group. She is a regular speaker on climate and environmental litigation at various international conferences.
