Bal is an Associate in the Commercial Litigation team, part of the wider Dispute Resolution department.

He has experience in high-value, complex English Court proceedings, having acted in a variety of cases across a number of different sectors, including cases in the Commercial Court and in the Insolvency and Companies List.

Bal is a member of the firm's Sports Group. His experience includes advising four-time IndyCar champion Álex Palou in a claim brought by McLaren Racing - recognised by The Lawyer as one of the Top 20 Cases for 2025.

Bal is also a member of the London Solicitors Litigation Association and regularly contributes to the firm's various pro bono initiatives, including its Royal Court of Justice Citizens Advice Bureau project.

Key Experience

Acting for the Government of Nigeria in High Court proceedings challenging a $10 billion arbitral award in favour of a BVI company arising from a failed gas deal, on the basis that the underlying contract and the award itself were procured through fraud and corruption.
Acting for a family holding company in High Court proceedings in relation to a €300m energy investment.
