Mishcon de Reya, together with wealth management company Julius Baer and NOON, online media platform and community for midlife women, commissioned research in September 2025, with a report to be published shortly, which has revealed that nearly a third of women who divorce in midlife are happier than ever, often experiencing relief and personal growth. The study highlights the increasing number of older couples divorcing later in life, financial concerns arising from divorcearising from divorce, and a shift towards women taking control of their futures.
Sandra Davis, Family Partner, provided expert insight into these changing attitudes and commented that "if a marriage is no longer serving them, is abusive or just not where they want to be for their next forty or fifty years, midlife women are voting with their feet."
