Conflicting beliefs and balancing rights: lessons learnt from Meade and Phoenix

Since Forstater established that gender critical beliefs are protected under s.10 of the Equality Act 2010 (ie the belief that biological sex is real, important and immutable and not to be conflated with gender identity), there has been a series of successful claims for discrimination by gender critical claimants: Forstater itself, Bailey and Fahmy. January saw the publication of two further judgments that continued this trend: Meade and Phoenix.

Women in Wealth: Girls are investors too

In our latest podcast episode, Emily Knight, Managing Associate in the Employment Team is joined by Charlotte Yonge, who is a Fund Manager at Troy Asset Management. Charlotte is also the Founder of a charity called GAIN which stands for ‘Girls Are Investors’. GAIN was set up to promote and inspire girls to pursue a career in investing. Emily spoke to Charlotte about why women historically invest less than men, what is being done to change it and some of the myths and stereotypes around gender and investing.
