Mishcon de Reya is expanding its offering to investors to cover a diverse range of investment strategies and markets, with the appointment of Angeli Arora.
Angeli’s former roles include regional leader of Private Equity (Africa) at Dentons and corporate partner at Akin Gump (including establishing their Hong Kong office to support key fund clients).
Angeli advises on a wide range of investment strategies around the world, including Asia and Africa, where she spent several years. Angeli's practice spans the investment spectrum – from special situations transactions, including activist/litigation strategies (a natural expansion of Mishcon’s market-leading litigation practice), to working with impact investors (a key focus for Mishcon Purpose).
Angeli's significant experience is a valuable addition to Mishcon Private Equity's private capital practice, investment strategy expertise and founder and management advisory work. Angeli's experience in international markets will also strengthen Mishcon's international offering and generate further opportunities for the Firm.
Nadim Meer, Head of Mishcon Private Equity, said "A key strand of Mishcon Private Equity has always been in private capital, advising investors who operate beyond mainstream UK mid-market private equity. Finding the right people to help us expand in that area has not been easy. However, the profile of the ideal Partner to help us develop our offering was an exact fit with Angeli. Her client base, experience, track record and, above all, her values made Angeli the ideal candidate. Angeli's knowledge of the impact investing space will allow us to further increase our reach in this area via Mishcon Purpose. We are thrilled to have Angeli join Mishcon de Reya and cannot wait to welcome her to the team."
Angeli added "I believe Mishcon de Reya is like no other firm in the market: it is a firm that thrives on navigating complex matters and confidently explores uncharted legal territories. This approach is exactly what activist investors require, when taking on difficult claims that unlock value. At the same time, Mishcon de Reya is one of the first major law firms to have established a purpose-driven business. Its understanding of how to fulfil a public purpose is exactly what impact investors need. Furthermore, Mishcon de Reya and I share a similar mindset – of daring to be different – which I believe will allow us to meaningfully shape how different investment themes play out in a rapidly changing world, including how activism can be combined with environmental, social and governance goals, and impact."
