Mishcon de Reya boosts Patent offering with high-profile Partner hire

Mishcon de Reya has announced a further expansion of its Innovation Department, with Campbell Forsyth joining as a Partner within the firm’s Patents Group in London.

One of the UK's leading patent litigators, experienced in managing complex cross-border patent litigation, Campbell has represented clients in various High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court patent actions. He focuses on high technology patent disputes including, pharmaceuticals, electronics, mechanical and telecommunications cases. He has acted on numerous high-profile cases including developing the Arrow declaration.

In addition to his core practice, Campbell advises on patent and regulatory law, including on FRAND licensing disputes in the telecoms sector and supplementary protection certificates (SPCs) for medicinal patents. He also has considerable expertise in alternative litigation funding and insurance arrangements.

Campbell previously held the role of Global Co-Head of Intellectual Property & Technology at Dentons and, prior to this, was a partner at King & Wood Mallesons and Olswang LLP. Chambers & Partners referred to Campbell as a “...celebrated IP lawyer with a focus on complex and often multi-jurisdictional patent litigation...”. Earlier this year, Campbell was appointed a Deputy High Court Judge in England and Wales (Chancery Division).

He joins the firm's Innovation Department, formed in 2021, which comprises nearly 60 lawyers, including 21 Partners. Campbell’s arrival follows the hire of experienced patent litigator Helen Conlan and fintech and privacy specialist Ashley Winton as Partners last year.
