Professor Ryan Abbott is a Professor of Law and Health Sciences at the University of Surrey School of Law and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is the author of The Reasonable Robot: Artificial Intelligence and the Law. In The Reasonable Robot, Ryan Abbott argues that the law should not discriminate between AI and human behaviour and proposes a new legal principle that will ultimately improve human wellbeing. In this session, Ryan will be discussing this book and considering why AI and people do not compete on a level playing field.
